Responsibilities

Position responsibilities:


• On-boarding processes
• Absence and leave management: administer employees’ leave and attendance, ensure all information and required supporting documentation are submitted to payroll department on a timely manner
• Termination: ensure termination procedure is properly completed (exit interview, termination documentations, etc), ensure paperwork is filed out and submit required documentation to payroll department on a timely manner
• Assist employees in answering any pertinent questions regarding policies and procedures
• Maintain compliance with country regulations concerning all aspects of employment (vacation, overtime pay, employee benefit eligibility, health & safety due process, payroll processed, etc.)
• Assist and advise HR department with the localization and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
• Research, recommend and implement new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and the services performed
• Review and/or edit contracts and handbooks ensuring content accuracy and final presentation
• Administer visa and work permit applications
• Ensure changes to the employees’ profiles are properly reported and submitted to payroll
• Assist, advise and educate employees with HRIS system usage
• Maintain employee files, organizational charts and online company directory
• Conduct audits to ensure that employee files have all necessary documents for compliance purposes
• Create/adapt time and attendance policies
• Administer various benefits plans (employees’ enrolment, changes, etc.) and ensure all requested/required changes are submitted to both payroll department and benefit provider
• Manage complex employee relations issues, ensuring procedures are properly followed and paperwork completed and filed, keeping the lines of communication open between managers and their employees
• Perform general administrative duties to assist the HR Department: filing, copying, faxing, fedexing, etc.
• Assist with other tasks and projects when required to do

Qualifications

Essential skills and experience required:


• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Human Resources
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Portuguese
• Very strong interpersonal skills required
• Knowledge of employment law and HR practices in Brazil
• Conflict resolution skills and effective problem solving abilities
Desired experience:
• Experience with benefits administration highly desirable
