• Linguistic Quality Assurance Specialist (English native level)

  • Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    The Linguistic Quality Assurance (LQA) Specialist works within the division's Linguistic Quality Assurance Department and is responsible for providing linguistic QA support to Project Managers and Account Managers across multiple offices.  The position is part of our Medical Device Solutions division. 


    • Evaluate project specifications and formulate risk-appropriate QA strategy, including resource selection and implementation of quality control steps
    • Conduct Linguistic Risk Analysis and develop specifications and guidelines for freelance translators and QA professionals
    • Coordinate development and management of lexicons and glossaries
    • Oversee linguistic QA process and resolve questions from translators and QA professionals throughout the project life cycle
    • Cross-reference QA findings across multiple languages
    • Complete linguistic proofreading and quality assurance review



    • Native or almost native fluency in English preferred and at least one foreign language (fluency in multiple languages is a plus)
    • Bachelor's degree
    • Experience in a team-oriented, deadline-driven production environment
    • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
    • Outstanding attention to detail
    • Team-player attitude; must be able to successfully balance shifting priorities
    • Good working knowledge of MS Word; familiarity with CAT tools a plus
    • Ability to make efficient in-process decisions based on knowledge, experience, and expert input

    Valued But Not Required:

    • Professional translation related work experience 
    • An active interest in developing language skills and expertise in medical subject matter
