  • Responsibilities

    The Operations Manager manages two or more individuals, which may be Team Leads. The Operations Manager assists the Global Operations Manager in achieving business objectives and is responsible for the quality of work, profitability and people decisions related to a department within one vertical.





    • Manage all full-time, part-time, and freelance production staff under his/her supervision
    • Execute disciplinary action when necessary
    • Distribute jobs within Media teams depending on the importance and complexity of the job: preflight each job and determine who is the most appropriate team to PM each project
    • Give continuous feedback to the Team Leads and Project Managers; conduct and document regular 1-on-1 meetings and performance evaluation sessions
    • Manage the Media department budget and projects' workflow
    • Take ownership for the translation projects within his/her teams
    • Perform other special projects or duties when required
    • Assess/understand client requirements on a project and account level
    • Promote and educate clients regarding TransPerfect Translations' services
    • Assist Sales in maintaining and developing client relationships
    • Communicate the ideas and stipulations of the senior management to the team
    • Make existing production processes more efficient to improve productivity, profitability, and overall department performance
    • Liaise with Quality Assurance Director to offer input / ideas on ways to improve procedures and processes
    • Stay on top of new technology initiatives/applications
    • Monitor all statistical performance metrics on an ongoing basis to determine any corrective or preventive actions required
    • Investigate client complaints regarding translations together with Team Leads - holding all full-time, part-time and freelance production staff under his/her supervision accountable, as well as defending TransPerfect Translations against spurious claims
    • Conduct high-level negotiations / preferred pricing agreements with top vendors on an ongoing basis.
    • Do research on Media and the clients, increasing his/her own knowledge base, so this can be passed on to other PMs and Sales
    • Involvement in the implementation of new Media technology and responsibility for the teams roll-out of new technology
    • Take initiative to take the training and experiences needed to develop the team and his/her own career path within the company
    • Flag training needs




    • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent
    • Broad knowledge of all areas within particular corporate sub-function or a function within a division. May have depth of knowledge in function derived from experience in non-management and middle management roles.
