  • Responsibilities

    Position responsibilities:

     

    • Manage production of typesetting projects using InDesign, Quark, and other typesetting/desktop publishing applications
    • Perform daily hands-on typesetting of multiple projects in coordination with Project Managers
    • Coordinate and communicate with other typesetting/DTP Specialists, freelancers, typesetting/DTP agencies, Project Managers, and other production team members, in various offices and time zones, to ensure project deadlines are met
    • Troubleshoot technical issues

    Qualifications

    Essential skills and experience required:

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
    • Advanced skills with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, Microsoft Office and other desktop publishing applications
    • Competency with Flash/ActionScript would be a plus
    • Proficient in Mac and PC application
    • Superior written and spoken English communication skills
    • Must be willing to learn new skills, be open to challenges and thrive on success
    • Work well with people from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures, build relationships with co-workers, work as part of a team, and commit to a high level of service

     

    Overview

    Position Summary:

    This position reports to the Desktop Publishing Manager. You will be a part of a team of full-time and freelance graphic designers/typesetters. Through a mix of project management and hands-on desktop publishing, you will define, develop, and manage the client project lifecycle. In addition, you will assist your team with analyzing, and troubleshooting foreign language data to be used in publishing products.
